Wollondilly Community Nursery & Environmental Resource Centre

Community Nursery

The Wollondilly Community Nursery grows a variety of native plants, from grasses and groundcovers to shrubs, vines and shade trees. We even have plants for the frog pond. Whether you live on a suburban block or out on the farm we have a native plant that will suite your needs. The Nursery is home to the Wollondilly Regenerators and Propagators. WRAP volunteers include a range of people from green-fingered retirees, part-time workers, work experience people and people studying environmental courses. WRAP meets every Tuesday and Thursday at the Nursery from 8am for a few of hours of work and a good yarn.

All new volunteers are fully trained in basic plant propagation, weed control, and seed collecting, so you will not only enjoy yourself, but you’ll learn something too!
* Wollondilly residents are entitled to 5 free plants per quarter when they show proof residence within the shire, e.g. licence, rates notice.

Community Garden

We have a community vegetable garden that was built with the help of volunteers. Local community members can pitch in and help grow heirloom variety vegetables and herbs. The garden was established using organic no dig principles and produces a range of fresh vegetables and herbs for the volunteers to take home.
We also have a wood fired cob oven and outdoor mud brick kitchen which provides baked goods for our volunteer activity days including scones, damper and pizza using fresh ingredients from the garden.
To keep the garden growing we have set up a seed bank for storing, producing, collecting and sharing open pollinated heirloom varieties of vegetables and herbs.

Environmental Resource Centre
