Internal Pipeline Inspection Program

Notice given by: APA Group (APA)
Proposed work dates: Between 4 November 2019 to 31 January 2020

As you would be aware, an APA Group (APA) high pressure gas transmission pipeline is located on your property. APA’s pipelines are designed, maintained and operated in compliance with relevant Australian Standards and Regulations.

As part of routine maintenance actives, a pipeline integrity inspection program will be conducted by APA between 4 November 2019 and 31 January 2020. This inspection involves running an intelligent “pig” device through the pipeline between Mummel and Wilton. The intelligent pig travels inside the pipeline and has on-board electronic equipment to analyse the pipeline wall condition as it travels.

The survey is conducted by several technicians and it is anticipated vehicle access will be required to enter properties along the pipeline route. The technicians may leave small, square markers at test points along the pipeline route to track the progress of the pig. Once these markers are in place, it is imperative they are not handled or disturbed. Moving the markers (survey pegs) will compromise the accuracy of the survey and compromise with pigging results. It would be appreciated if you could ensure everyone on your property is aware of these markers. The markers will remain on the ground until the intelligent pigging activity is completed.

Weather and other contingencies permitting, the work will be undertaken during daylight hours on or between the proposed work dates listed above. APA will ensure that any inconvenience to you is minimalised.
